Finally I did it. I ran HelloOX after signing it using my certificate. It ran for over an hour. I almost gave up. Eventually, I thought enough was enough and after an hour and a half, I selected cancel. But, it worked! I can now install non-signed software on my E63.
Things to remember -
- Run SignSIS in XP compatibility mode, otherwise you can’t output signed files in Vista.
- Wait for HelloOX to do it’s thing. It can take a long time.
- I tested successfully with HelloOX 1.04
- I’m using SignSIS 1.1
I got HelloOX 1.04 from here.
I got SignSIS 1.1 from here.
I got my certificate by following the links in my previous post.
Please do not use this method for running pirate software on the Nokia E63. This should be used for testing purposes only or to run stuff that needs to be released without waiting to be signed or software Nokia don’t like. Software piracy is possibly illegal.

Re your last statement about Software piracy is possibly illegal.FACT IT IS ILLEGAL in most English speaking countries,as well as non english speaking countries. Severe penalties including jailtimeand harsh penalties apply.I know three people who are currently before the courts on piracy charges one has been fined a little under A$25000 and that was for having downloaded just six movies. So if you think big brother is not watching think again.
Actually this is a very grey area, though it is possible in many countries for the owners of the copyright to initiate civil proceedings and claim damages, until the court has upheld their case, there is no illegal act. In most countries, making a copy of something is not a criminal act. As in, it is not an act against society, merely something that can be sued for.
This is a big CAN and not necessarily a WILL. I agree that we should not go around infringing upon people intellectual property, but I also believe that sometimes, in a bid to protect this, companies lock their systems down too much and this creates a nuisance for legitimate users. I for one paid for my phone and would like to run free software on it. Nokia do not in my country have the legal right to prohibit me from doing so. My statement was designed, like your own to warn people of the dangers of piracy. Plus, I agree with you…. just because you are not paranoid, doesn’t mean they are not watching you.
